Specialties and Enrichment Activities
Specialty Activities
As part of the curriculum, Strelitz works with resource teachers every week.
Aquatics
Three and four-year-old students receive weekly swim classes at our highly regarded aquatics facility. Our aquatics facilities are one more reason why Strelitz is right from the start for your entire family.
Music
In addition to aquatics and P.E., local, professional musician Michal Newman leads music circles for all of our students. The music and songs she brings to our classrooms to help develop pre-literacy skills on all age levels by building on language and memory development.
Our Library
The single most important factor in building strong literacy in pre-readers is reading aloud to students. Our preschool students visit our school library once a week for interactive story time with our school librarian. All of our teachers maintain classroom libraries and read aloud to students on a daily basis.
Enrichment Activities
Three and four-year-old students enrolled in the Strelitz extended day program until 3:30 p.m. have daily enrichment activities, including:
- Cooking
- Science exploration
- Art
- Hebrew language enrichment
- Literature
- Outdoor gross motor activities
The Simon Family Jewish Community Center, which shares the same campus as Strelitz, offers afternoon enrichment classes at an additional cost. These classes change seasonally and are listed in the JCC Program Guide.
